Campus Habitat Resident Review

Robert V., 3 Bedroom, 1 Bath

1. What do you like most about living at your apartment?
How Close to campus it is and the Big Screen TV

2. And of course... what do you like least about living there?
The Management sucks! The walls are thin and beyond the nice appliances, the carpet sucks and heating sucks and AC is a beast and loud. Windows are drafty and toilets run!

3. What are the specific amenities your complex offers?
All utilities are included. But it is still expensive for the quality.

4. Whats the neighborhood like? Party people? Quiet? Obnoxious? Criminals?
You can hear people talking outside from 3rd floor and you can hear loud music if it is above a decibel!

5. What is the rent per month?
375 a month, but i got a special. It would be 425 for new occupants.

6. How much do you pay utilities per month?
Zero

7. Do you like the layout of your complex?
No , its needs more bathrooms and washer and dryers that works.

8. Management/ leasing office/ maintenance - are they helpful?
NO, NO AND When they get to you they are useful. But Maintenance are pet nazis.Always badgering about leashes and poop.

9. Is there a shuttle? Is it close to campus?
No shuttle because close to campus. It is a 5 min walk to pearce.

10. Are there any hidden fees or secrets we need to know about?
Cleaning Fees, 60 out of security, illegal pet fee 100, as well as they're ridiculous 45 bucks for late fees 3 times a month.300 for pet deposit or 600 with 200 nonrefundable.
They will tow your vehicle if you forget the parking pass and it costs 125 bucks.

Lastly, Are there any choice words or last comments you have?
They rely on email and annoy you with emails when you have paid on time or if you have payments automatically set up. They email about everything, so if you miss an email you may get fined or a maintenance person may show up.

Jonathan T., 3 Bedroom, 2 People

1. What do you like most about living at your apartment?
It is close to campus and the big screen TV and the new appliances. The sinks are pretty cool too. A remote comes with the air conditioning, which is cool. It also comes fully furnished, which means no heavy moving of furniture.

2. And of course... what do you like least about living there?
Well, the management is the best, but it is certainly not the worst. United is the worse (I lived in Jamestown two years ago). I also do not like how with some issues they have no way of fixing, or do not fix.

3. What are the specific amenities your complex offers?
The apartments come with a big screen tv.... which rocks. All utilities are included.

4. Whats the neighborhood like? Party people? Quiet? Obnoxious? Criminals?
Most of my neighbors are pretty quite. I rarely hear them. Of course on major party weekends like welcome weekend, halloween, saint patrick's day etc. etc. people tend to get wild, but that is common everywhere.

5. What is the rent per month?
500 per month. I live in a three bedroom with 2 people.

6. How much do you pay utilities per month?
zero

7. Do you like the layout of your complex?
yes. All though it would be nice to have more than one washer and one dryer in the building.

8. Management/ leasing office/ maintenance - are they helpful?
I have never had an issue with them. Every time I have had a problem maintenance is usually fast to respond. With management, I have never had a problem getting in contact with someone, even on the weekend.

9. Is there a shuttle? Is it close to campus?
There is a bus stop less than 200 feet from my building. But I don't need it because it takes less than 10 minutes to get to class.

10. Are there any hidden fees or secrets we need to know about?
Nothing that isn't stated in the lease. As long as you follow the rules you won't have to worry about anything.

Lastly, Are there any choice words or last comments you have?
I like them. They aren't the best, but they are better than most. My only warning would be, if you have a pet just make sure you let them know and pay the extra money, because if you try to sneak one they will hit you with a major fine (happened to my neighbor). If you are 21 and like pizza it is within walking distance of the Cabin. Other than that, I would say Campus Habitat is a good choice. Better than United.

Kelly S., 4 bed, 1 bath

1. What do you like most about living at your apartment?
I love my roommates! I like the big tv and the dishwasher. Being able to have pets is pretty awesome.

2. And of course... what do you like least about living there?
Things are always breaking. In the fall, our tub and sink kept clogging, and they told us it was our fault...then we woke up one morning to no running water and found out that thier had been a bigger cause. They ripped up the street and the yard, but we didn't have water all day. The sink handles are prone to rusting out and falling off.

3. What are the specific amenities your complex offers?
Dishwasher :) All large appliances, fitness room, dvd library, I think there is free tanning?

4. Whats the neighborhood like? Party people? Quiet? Obnoxious? Criminals?
Our building is pretty good. The girls across the hall are nice, but our neighbors smoke indoors and let their dog bark all night. Sometimes I can hear parties and I could always hear the football commentary.

5. What is the rent per month?
I pay $350.

6. How much do you pay utilities per month?
 Utilities are included.

7. Do you like the layout of your complex?
Its not bad, but nothing special.

8. Management/ leasing office/ maintenance - are they helpful?
Management is pretty friendly, only had one incident where they broke my bike chain and refused to pay. They have been pretty good about our foster animals. Maintainence is also very friendly, but a little lacking. We have a half-patched hole in our ceiling that they said they would finish in November. When we say come "by appointment only" they always come 3 days early or late...not good when you are hiding a few extra foster cats :)

9. Is there a shuttle? Is it close to campus?
No shuttle because its a short walk to campus.

10. Are there any hidden fees or secrets we need to know about?
Look at the lease before you sign and make sure you get a copy for when you get into disputes over bike locks :) There is a cleaning fee built into the security deposit, so don't expect to get all of it back...I can't think of anything else :)

Lastly, Are there any choice words or last comments you have?
Last words...Overall I'm mostly okay with living here. I have a tiny closet that doesnt' fit my clothes ( seriously 3 feet wide) When I don't have to worry about things breaking or random inspections its okay here.

Jeff W., 3 Bedroom, 1 Bath, 3 People

Keep in mind I don't spend much time at my apartment anymore, but I was there 24/7 this past summer.

1. What do you like most about living at your apartment?
Nice fixtures, fully furnished (beds even), big screen tv isn't bad. Best past is its super close to campus and is fairly active community without being crazy.

2. And of course... what do you like least about living there?
Although the sinks are sweet-looking, they suck to keep clean. The have washer/dryers, but only one per each building and i've never seen them working.

My bedroom is insanely small with almost no closet. The other rooms are nice and huge, but mine is tiny. I knew what I was getting into however.

3. What are the specific amenities your complex offers?
Free tanning, free parking, work out rooms, big screen tv (60"!), fully furnished including beds if you wish, very nice apliances.

4. Whats the neighborhood like? Party people? Quiet? Obnoxious? Criminals?
Normal for college, we have one neighbor that blasts crazy loud techno on weekends, but aside from them it is quiet, but not too quiet that its boring.

5. What is the rent per month?
$350 with a special, utils included

6. How much do you pay utilities per month?
None, included in rent

7. Do you like the layout of your complex?
Its not bad, the big rooms are awesomely big, but mine is too tiny to live in.

8. Management/ leasing office/ maintenance - are they helpful?
Very. I've never had to file a maintenance claim, but they seem to be on top of things. I've had to contact our property manager a few times on different issues and she always gets back to me within a few minutes. She has a blackberry and tends to email instantly. She is really understanding and nice aswell.

9. Is there a shuttle? Is it close to campus?
We have a bus stop, but I've never seen the shuttle. Its a 5 minute walk to campus tho.

10. Are there any hidden fees or secrets we need to know about?
There's a cleaning fee taken out of your deposit, but its all listed in the rent. All fees (pets, damages, cleaning) are listed in the rent. If you just read the rent and pay on time your completely fine.

Lastly, Are there any choice words or last comments you have?
I like the place. Its a nice place to live with really friendly staff and a good community. The small bedrooms are kinda small, but I really liked it regardless
